Evercreech Drama Group

Evercreech Drama Group has been entertaining audiences since 1991 when Mrs Mollie Purse MBE was inspired to form the group initially to help boost the much needed funds for the up-keep of the village hall. To this day we are a band of like-minded people who enjoy amateur dramatics, being on stage and performing, behind the scenes, making costumes, set design, or simply being part of a friendly group of people.

Like all groups, clubs, and societies we are always looking for people who are interested in being part of something either as a one off participant or lifelong supporter. For further information, please do contact Greg Jessop on 01749 831122 or e-mail evercreechdg@gmail.com “you never know what it’s like till you’ve tried it”.

We endeavour to do a production every year,  so far these have included; The Happiest Days of Your Life, Daisy Pulls It Off, Billy Liar, Oliver, Bazaar & Rummage, Womberang, Black Comedy, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Calendar Girls, The Allotment, Gosforth`s Fete and numerous pantomimes.

We also like to produce plays for younger people to introduce them to drama and have some fun and our most recent production involving younger people was Babe - the sheep pig in November 2015. It involved 16 local children who had a great time and their fantastic performances were appreciated by three packed houses.

The Annual General Meeting was held on Sunday 20th Mayl 2018 in the skittle alley at The Bell Inn, Evercreech.

Thank you to all who attended. A committee and officers were elected and are now in operation

Thanks to all who came to see our production of "CURTAIN UP". It was a great success, the cast delighted the audience with their portrayal of five women who inherit a dilapidated theatre and their attempt to revive it with a spectacular show. There was much laughter and the cast, which included 3 new members, were thrilled with the warm reception they received.

Our next production will be a special version of the pantomime Snow White. Following a read through and auditions in the village hall in October the production has now been cast and rehearsals have started with an enthusiastic group of adults, youths and children.

We are still looking for someone to help coordinate our Stage Crew and for someone to take on the role of Prompt.

As a result of our long standing Costume Designer retiring we are looking for people with sewing skills, costume design and production skilla to join our group.
